He's Real to ME!

I'm not delusional. I know the characters I read about in stories aren't real . . . I just wish they were.

Though it's probably best for the men of the world that they aren't, because the fictional dudes would steal away all the women. Don't believe me? Let me introduce you to a few of my crushes.

Lestat de Lioncourt
(Vampire Chronicles - Anne Rice) Lestat was my first fictional love. True, sometimes he's arrogant, flamboyant, selfish, impulsive, reckless & finds more trouble than inhumanly possible. But at the end of the day, I still love him.

Dimitri Belikov
(Richelle Mead - Vampire Academy) Dimitri isn't my normal type. He's such a good guy. Strong morals, level headed. I never would have thought I'd fall head over heels for him, even if he's ungodly hot. But now, I'd travel into strigoi territory to bring him back too.

Mr. Darcy
(Jane Austen - Pride & Prejudice) Fitzwilliam Darcy had me thinking ... "He's not all that. Come on Lizzy, we could do so much better.... Wait, he did what?!? ... Aw, let's marry him and have his little Darcy babies!!"

Jacob Black

(Stephenie Meyer - Twilight Saga) Jacob, so help me, is the only character -- who isn't a vampire -- who's made me forsake the main hero and wanting to rewrite the ending. Every time he uttered his trademark "Sure, sure" I melted a little. Fiercely loyal. A bit of a hothead. Determined. His amazing abs had absolutely nothing to do with winning my devotion -- though they didn't hurt any.

What about you? Any long-standing crushes on men who may not be "real", but they're real to you?

There are so many. Mr. Darcy is definitely one of them.

Yesss!!! Mr. Darcy forever! He's for sure my first book love. He always just seemed so elegant and witty. Even when he was being rude or seemed cruel, I always thought that there HAD to be something more to him! Great choices.

I'm also all about Wesley from the Princess Bride. There's nothing like a hot stable boy that turns into a dread pirate. =)

Oh...Mr. Darcy...nom. I was more of a Louis fan but I did see the movie before I read the book so that might have something to do with it.

I know everyone loves Mr. Darcy but I also love Bingley. So happy, cheerful, and down to earth! The nice guy never gets enough credit haha. I also loved Ryan Gosling's character from The Notebook and on the most pathetic note, Prince Eric from The Little Mermaid.

Mmm, Dimitri. Totally on my list. Also, Etienne St. Clair from Anna and the French Kiss. And Jace from The Mortal Instruments series. And so many others, really :)

:-/ yes...

Lestat, definitely. Eric from the True Blood series. Also Alcide. Johnny Storm (Chris Evans) from the Fantastic 4 movies. And a few pixelated ones I'll refrain from mentioning...ok no I won't since Samuya mentioned Prince Eric (me, too, Samuya). Auron from FF10, Dante from the Devil May Cry series, and D from Vampire Hunter D. now my descent into dorkdom is complete. :D

If my stepdaughter was answering this post for me, she would type in bold letters: DAMON SALVATORE. So yeah, I've got a bit of thing for the bad boy vamp in Vampire Diaries. And I may throw things at the TV when he kisses another woman on screen, and occasionally I *might* slip a picture of him in my wallet...behind my husband's of course. What do you think I am, a celebrity stalker? Sheesh.

Cute! Love this topic. I totally have to second Eric and Alcide from TrueBlood... and let's see, Phantom of the Opera (well, when Gerard Butler played him in the movie).
