Summer Lovin' & A Bucket List

credit
No, I haven't fallen in love...but the summer is still young (technically, it hasn't started yet) so I'm not giving up hope.

But I AM going to cut back to posting once a week. (Don't worry, Would You Rather Wednesday will be back in the Fall). I learned my lesson last year that most of us are way too busy during the warmer months to post/visit as many blogs as we do when we're stuck in-doors. This way, I'm hoping to be able to get back to browsing everyone else's blogs during the week as opposed to feeling like I have to rush because I've got to come up with three of my own.

***

Enough about the bloggy business.

I've also decided that I want to start a bucket list.

Not one in my head, but I actually want to buy a pretty journal (not that I don't already have a bazillion...I'm a sucker for a good notebook) and fill it with all sorts of things I'd love to be able to try, places to go, things to accomplish before my days come to an end. I think maybe if I have my dreams written down somewhere I might be more driven to strive for them more frequently rather than constantly laying back and waiting for "some day" to come.

Off the very top of my head here are a few things on my bucket list:

** Vacation in Ireland
** Go to Game 7 of the World Series (prefer Orioles, but Game 7 is Game 7!!)
** Find a man I love more than myself and marry him
** Vacation in Australia
** Make the NYT Best-Sellers list
** Have a couple of rugrats
** Take a roadtrip from Maryland to California and back
** Learn to speak Portuguese

That's just off the top of my head, so I'm sure I could fill many more pages with smaller things as well as a few crazy, off-the-wall ideas.

What about you all, do you have a Bucket List? Is there something you haven't done/ experienced yet, but you really hope you do before you die?

Come on, I write three times a week. Mostly what I do is write them in advance when I feel like it. On my blog I've written about a writing bucket list.

You might be waiting a long time for the Orioles to get to the World Series, let alone in a Game 7.

I had a list of 101 things to do in 1001 days. About the only thing I put any effort into was reading 101 books and taking an art class (life drawing, yes it was awesome). Turns out I'm not driven by wanderlust and I have no ambitions (illusions?) of greatness: I just want to write some nice sentences, discover interesting and engaging characters, and enjoy cheap meals and trips to the cinema and the museum on my own. I'm still coming to terms with the fact that I don't want to do or have or be all the exciting things I'm supposed to want.

How can you have 3 vacation destinations listed and Nebraska not be one of them? I'm so shocked. Why Portuguese?

You, Matt, and I can go to Ireland, and while you're learning Portuguese there, maybe you'll meet a hot Portuguese guy who you fall madly in love with (after you get to know him and find out he actually lives in your city--because you don't want to start the long distance relationship thing. Trust me!). :D

Sounds like a plan to me.

I like the buck list idea.

As for me my buck list includes going to Italy, and England. I'd love to finally visit family there.

Fly a plane. Not alone!

and of course make the New York Times Best Seller list.

I also try to schedule all by blogs in advanced. Less stressful, until they catch up with you. LOL

Yay, Australia! :D We can meet up and go to Ireland from here. ;P

As for the bucket list, I want to go to a horse ranch in Kananaskis, Canada. I might wait until my daughter is old enough to come with me. What a fantastic experience that would be. :D

I love to read other people's bucket lists. I haven't thought of one for me. You may have given me some inspiration. Love the vacation entries and intrigued by the Portuguese entry.

I love bucket lists! I make one every few years. I get to cross one off soon: I'm taking a road trip with a friend through the Southwest, which I've always wanted to see. Nothing like crossing an item off that list!

Why Portuguese? And Ireland's on my list too.

Writing things down definitely helps clarify things. If you put it on paper, it seems more real for some reason. You've inspired me to write mine down too!

Hi Tracy...nice to meet you. Blogging once a week is a great idea. I have been toying with that thought for some time now. As of now its twice a week posting for me.

Love your bucket list. #1,3,4 and 5 would end up on my list too.

Ireland would be fabulous! I'd love to see that. Northern England (lake district) is on my bucket list, not to mention a cruise on the mediterranian.

Learning German and Italian are on mine. Getting published, for sure. :)
